Getting a deal on insurance

Yaron Y. Goland (he of UPnP infamy amongst other things) has written an article on shopping for car and rental insurance. Something no one wants to do - I've been using State Farm for many years without any problems apart from costing a lot but I think it is due to living in the bay area.
